Abstract

According to the NCC (National Communications Commission) and Google, the smartphone penetration rate had reached around 80% in Taiwan last year, with more and more users sticking to their mobile devices. This phenomenon has driven the need for mobile applications (apps), mobile payment services, and mobile shopping. To help vendors catch up with this trend, MIC conducted a survey in the fourth quarter of 2015, diving into app developers and consumer behaviors of mobile payment and shopping in Taiwan. This report summarizes the 10 most important facts that encapsulate the current development of Taiwan's app economy.
