October 20, 2021

Global notebook PC shipments are estimated to grow 18.6% in 2021, reaching 238 million units, according to Taiwan’s government-backed research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) at MIC FORUM held from September 28 to October 8, 2021. “The COVID-19 pandemic has created the new normal that bolster the global demand for notebook PCs this year. Looking ahead to 2022, as more and more people are returning to the office, the demand for commercial notebook PC replacement will increase. Coupled with the deferred purchase due to the component shortage, global notebook PC shipments are estimated to reach 230 million units in 2022. Chromebooks and gaming notebook PCs are still the areas of focus for brands,” said Chris Wei, senior industry analyst with MIC.
