Global notebook PC market is estimated to grow 19.2% and reach 240 million units in 2021, up from 150 million and 160 million units in the past five years, according to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), a major government think tank and IT research institute in Taiwan. “In the next five years, the industry’s shipment volume is expected to remain around 200 million units or higher, mainly due to commercial replacement demand and untapped demand in emerging markets,” said Chris Wei, senior industry analyst at MIC.
