Worldwide smartphone market will continue to face several negative impacts including economic policy uncertainty in both China and the United States so the industry will only mange to see a 1.3% year-on-year growth in 2019, according to the Taipei-based government-backed IT research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute). "With its development strategies in Europe and India paying off, Huawei is projected to see its market share in smartphones surpass Apple in 2019 for the first time," says Eddie Han, senior industry analyst with MIC.
