Vision Sensors and Sensor Fusion Expected to Become the Main Market Deployment For China Manufacturers in The Future: MIC
May 05, 2016

"According to a survey conducted by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 90% of vehicle accidents are caused by human error, only 10% from road or vehicle issues. The implementation of ADAS can help prevent human error and avoid vehicle accident," says Lucy Ho, senior analyst with MIC (Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute), a Taipei-based ICT research institute. "It is also anticipated that the key to winning out competitors will largely depend on how fast they can achieve cost reduction."

"Major firms for vision sensors include O'Film, Neusoft, Jingu, AutoNavi, and Protruly; for radars, Sun Create, Glarun, GreatStar, and Huayu; and for other environmental sensors, APG, Sunrise Wheels and ZYNP," explains Ho. "However, considering that their technology is currently lagging behind global counterparts, they mainly target mid- to low-end products."
