China's Mobile Shopping Market Reached US$26.9 Billion in 2013

According to China National Commercial Information Center (CNCIC), the market value of China's mobile online shopping market reached 167.64 billion RMB in 2013 (US$26.9 billion; US$1 = 6.228 RMB), up 165.4% year on year, reported Xinhua News Agency on April 16. Statistics showed that China's Internet users reached 618 million by the end of 2013, of which 500 million were mobile Internet users. CNCIC estimates that along with the increasing Internet speed, improvements on software, and the development of safer and more convenient payment systems, the mobile online shopping market will maintain a rapid growing speed in China.
