Microsoft has cooperated with Lenovo and Tencent to continuously provide technical support for Windows XP users in China, including, information protection, post-virus repairs and upgrades to the newer Windows 7 or 8, after the software company officially ended updating the OS this week, reported China's Securities Times on April 9. Tencent will provide 24/7 on-line security services while Lenovo will open over 2,400 Windows XP "First-aid stations" around the country. Currently, China has approximately 200 million Windows XP users, roughly representing 70% of the Chinese PC market, according to the report.
