HTC and CHT (Chunghwa Telecom) have signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to deepen their partnership for the upcoming 4G LTE era in Taiwan, reported Liberty Times on April 7. CHT will put customized build-in applications for 4G LTE value-added services in HTC's smartphones. The cooperation includes high-speed 4G LTE Internet, product and service differentiation, distribution channel integration, and perspective on digital convergence. Both companies will jointly develop innovative applications for digital convergence, such as introducing multi-OTT (Over-the-top) service to smart handheld devices. In addition to CHT, HTC will also ink a similar MOU with Far Eastone Telecom, said the report.
