O-Film to Acquire DOC for US$50 Million

O-Film Tech Co. announced that it has signed a LOI (Letter of Intent) to acquire Digital Optics Corporation (DOC), a MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) and camera module technology company wholly owned by Tessera Technologies, through O-Film Hong Kong for US$50 million, as reported by the China Securities Journal on March 27. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, the purchase will include certain assets related to MEMS technology, more than 280 patents related to flip chip, WLO (Wafer Level Optics), MO (Micro Optics), and camera modules, and a licensing agreement for O-Film to use some other patents and software owned by Tessera.
