Asus: Rosy Outlook for Smartphones in 2014

With good cost-performance ratios and trendy designs for its smartphone lineup, Asus aims to sell over five million smartphones this year, against 1.5 million units in 2013, reported Economic Daily News on January 29. Chairman Johnny Shih said that the company is ready for challenges in 2014 when the worldwide ICT industry is undergoing a critical transformation from personal computing to cloud computing. Based on solid technological strength and streamlined management, the company will continue focusing on notebook PCs, tablets, desktop PCs, motherboards, and smartphones. Meanwhile, Mr. Shin also hinted that the company is working on wearable devices, possibly a smart watch, according to the report.
