Acer announced the appointment of Jason Chen, TSMC's former Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, as its new President and CEO, reported Taiwan's United Daily News on December 24. Prior to joining TSMC, Mr. Chen has worked at Intel as corporate vice president and co-director of the worldwide sales and marketing group for over a decade. He has a good connection in both semiconductor and computer industries. Mr. Chen will take on his new role starting from January 1, 2014. Acer's founder Stan Shih will remain as Chairman and continue to chair the reform committee.
