The Taiwan-based OGS (One Glass Solution) touch panel manufacturer Fortrend has signed a cooperation deal with major LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) vendor Sharp on the production of touch control modules for notebook PCs and All-in-One PCs, as reported by the Commercial Times on November 7. According to the deal, Sharp will supply full HD IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) panels to Fortrend for the assembly of backlight and OGS capacitive touch modules. Initially, Sharp will supply 500,000 units of 13-inch panels per month, and will ramp up to 1 million units after six months. Larger sized 24-inch panels will also be supplied in the future. However, the exact timeline of the cooperation is yet to be released.
