Server and notebook PC contract manufacturer Inventec announced that it will establish a cloud information service center in Taiwan and join hands with its subsidiary Inventec Appliances to cut into tablet, smartphone, and wearable device markets, according to Economic Daily News on October 17. To create synergy for cloud computing business, Inventec plans to merge its Chinese software workforce located in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Xi'an, and Nanchang into two to three units, and set up regional headquarters in Shanghai or Chongqing. As for smart end-user devices, Inventec Appliances has reportedly shipped a small-scale of wearable device products to PND (Portable Navigation Device) vendor TomTom.
