Chimei Innolux Corporation (CMI) announced that it is building a streamlined panel production line in its plant in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, according to a 22 December news report by Taiwan's Commercial Times. With an aim to catch up with the touch control trend, the new production line will have a streamlined process for the manufacturing of both TFT-LCD (Thin-Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) and touch control panels, tapping the needs for tablets, notebook PCs, and AIO (All-in-One) PCs. The company said that the production line is slated for operation in the first quarter of 2013 at the earliest, and will mainly focus on the production of high-end products.
