Huawei to Invest US$2 Billion, Build R&D Center, Global Technology Center in India

Huawei projects to invest US$2 billion in India over the next four years, according to a June 25, 2012 report by The Economic Times. Huawei said that revenue generated in India increased by 20% in 2011, according to the same source. It is reported that the company also plans to set up a R&D center in the country. Situated in Bangalore, the R&D center is expected to kick off operation in June 2013 with a workforce of more than 5,000 people. Huawei plans to establish a global technology center in Bangalore as well in 2012 or 2013, which will be used for providing technical supports for its clients worldwide.
