Sony, Panasonic Join Hands for Next Generation OLED Panel Development

Sony and Panasonic have inked an agreement to collaborate on the development of next generation OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels and modules for TVs and large-sized displays, according to a press release by Sony on June 25, 2012. The two companies plan to develop printing method-based OLED technology that can be used to mass produce large, high resolution OLED panels and modules with relatively low costs. Sony and Panasonic are reported to integrate their technologies in a bid to improve overall efficiency of the OLED development and establish volume-production technology during 2013.
