Deutsche Telekom Invests Approx. US$50 Million in Establishing Development Center in China

Deutsche Telekom announced the establishment of a global development center in China, according to a June 18, 2012 report by the China Daily. The development center is reported to be Deutsche Telekom's first development center in China. Situated in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province in central China, the development center is expected to emphasize on the development of core technology, including telematics, cloud computing, and air traffic technology. Investment of the development center is estimated at around 40 million euro (US$50 million; US$1=0.80 euro). The China-based development center is anticipated to hire approximately 1,000 employees in 2014. Deutsche Telekom has also built development centers located in Brazil and Mexico.
