SK Hynix Opens Flash R&D Center in Italy

SK Hynix announced the establishment of a new R&D center in Italy, according to a June 11, 2012 report by the Market Watch. SK Hynix said that the company has acquired Ideaflash, an Italian NAND flash developer, and turned it into a R&D center aiming to strengthen the company's flash memory technology and cope with growing demand for flash memory chips. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. SK Hynix currently has R&D centers in Japan, Taiwan, and the United States.
