Lenovo Introduces No-contract Mobile Broadband Service

Lenovo announced the rollout of no-contract mobile broadband service for ThinkPad Classic and ThinkPad Edge product lines, according to a June 11, 2012 report by ZDNet. A scalable cloud-based platform has been established by Lenovo and its partner Macheen in order to facilitate the service. It is reported that the service, dubbed Lenovo Mobile Access, will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Users can buy "Time pass" for US$1.95 for 30 minutes with a cap of 30MB or US$8.95 for one day with a cap of 200MB. Other options include 2GB and 6GB capped deals priced at US$45 to US$85 per month. Lenovo Mobile Access is scheduled to be formally launched on July 1, 2012.
