Sony, Panasonic Reported to Team up for OEL TV Development

It is reported that Sony and Panasonic plans to join hands for accelerating the development of OEL (Organic Electroluminescence) TVs, according to a May 15, 2012 report by Nikkei. The two companies are projected to commercialize OEL TVs by fiscal year 2015. Cooperation between Sony and Panasonic is expected to lead to joint production of OEL TVs, which are said to consume less power and deliver sharper images compared to traditional flat TVs. Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are anticipated to unveil 55-in OEL TVs in 2012, according to the same source.
