Samsung Electronics announced on February 15, 2012 that the company is considering spinning off its LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) flat-screen business, according to a report by Financial Times. Samsung has ended the LCD joint venture with Sony only recently. It is reported that Samsung plans to put more emphasis on OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) business. Other Samsung's option includes merging the LCD unit with Samsung Mobile Display.
