September 16, 2011

Samsung Electronics is planning to foray into the Japanese TV market once again, according to a September 13, 2011 report by the Korea Times. It is reported that Samsung is currently in talks with one of the top three retailers in Japan, and Samsung's TVs are scheduled to hit the Japanese market as early as 2012. Samsung's share in the Japanese TV market stood at 0.4% in 2007 when the company decided to exit the market. It is projected that Samsung is likely to follow the example of LG Electronics to re-enter the Japanese TV market in the future.
