Taiwanese telecom operator Taiwan Mobile announced that the company will invest a total of NT$5 billion (US$172.4 million; US$1=NT$29.0) in cloud computing business, according to an August 30, 2011 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. Approximately NT$2.3 billion (US$79.3 million) of the total investment will be used on hardware and software purchases mainly from Taiwanese equipment manufacturers. It is reported that Taiwan Mobile will team up with Quanta Computer for cloud supply chain. Currently, Quanta Computer has completed cloud hardware solutions supporting Microsoft's Hyper-V cloud platform.
