Microsoft, China Standard Software Team Up for Cloud Computing Business in China

Microsoft announced its partnership with China Standard Software for the development, marketing and sales of cloud computing solutions in China, according to an August 23, 2011 report by Reuters. China Standard Software is a Linux operating system provider, and the alliance for cloud computing business is expected to target at enterprise clients such as online retailers, banks, and government agencies. Financial terms of the alliance are yet to be disclosed. It is reported that the business tie-up between the two companies is likely to become a model for Microsoft when launching similar cloud computing projects in other emerging markets, such as India and Brazil.
