Sony to Reorganize TV Business
August 05, 2011

Sony plans to reorganize its TV business in order to cut costs and enhance competitiveness, according to an August 2, 2011 report by Bloomberg. It is expected that the company's plans will include procurement reorganization, product development, sales operations, as well as teaming up with other companies. A detailed reorganization plan will be decided in August this year. Aiming to boost its TV business, Sony has sold off its TV plants in Spain, Slovakia, and Mexico in recent years and outsourced much of its TV production to Foxconn. Sony now has four TV plants of its own located in Japan, China, Malaysia, and Brazil.
