European Commission Approves Lenovo's Bid to Buy Medion

European Commission approved on July 26, 2011 the proposal filed by Lenovo to buy around 33.66% stake in Germany firm Medion, according to the Commercial Times of Taiwan. As per the assessment made by the European Commission, combined market shares of Lenovo and Medion are moderate, and the deal will not pose significant impact on the European PC industry. The deal between Lenovo and Medion is projected to be finalized soon. After acquiring Medion, Lenovo will account for approximately 7.5% of the European PC market, according to the same source.
