ZTE announced that the company will produce Android-based tablet PCs in Brazil starting from August 2011, according to a June 29, 2011 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. ZTE has already set up a production base in Brazil near Sao Paulo in April this year, and the company plans to further expand its business in Brazil and considers deploy broadband network there. It is reported that ZTE will invest approximately US$250 million in Brazil and hire as many as 2,500 employees by 2014. Tablet PCs to be produced in August are expected to be sold in Brazilian domestic market.
