Foxconn to Push Back iPad Production in Brazil to September
June 19, 2011
Taiwan-based Foxconn expects to push back its production of tablet PCs, which consists mainly of Apple iPad, to September 2011, according to Brazil's science and technology minister, quoted in a June 19 Economic Daily News report. Originally slated for July, Foxconn's tablet PC production in Brazil is delayed due to infrastructure issues in Jundiai, Sao Paolo. It is reported that the production plan was also affected by the company's personnel training program, as Foxconn has so far only been able to recruit 175 local engineers for the training program in China. However, it is reported that Foxconn's investment plan in Brazil, believed to amount to US$12 billion, will not be affected.
