Huawei plans to foray into the Indian tablet PC market in the third quarter of 2011, according to a June 10, 2011 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. It is reported that Huawei will invest approximately US$2 billion in manufacturing, R&D, and sales, aiming to become the top five tablet PC manufacturers in the country in five years. Huawei said the company will release high-end tablet PC, S7, in India in the third quarter this year.

Meanwhile, Huawei also aims to expand its market share in Indian mobile phone market to around 15% by 2015, according to the same source. It is projected that Huawei will introduce high-end mobile phones and Smartphones in India to reach this goal.
