Fujifilm to Expand Film Production

Fujifilm announced on June 8, 2011 that it will invest approximately 16 billion yen (US$199.8 million; US$1=80.1 yen) in increasing film production used for large LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TVs, according to the Japan Today. Fujifilm also plans to add a film production line at its subsidiary Fujifilm Kyushu located in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Operations of the new production line are slated for December 2012. It is reported that the new production line will focus on manufacturing film to be used in LCD TVs with screen sizes larger than 40-inch.
