Fujitsu, Microsoft Team up for Cloud Computing Service Launch

Fujitsu and Microsoft announced on June 7, 2011 that the Global Cloud Platform service will be unveiled in August 2011, according to a press release by Microsoft. Global Cloud Platform service, dubbed "FGCP/A5", is powered by Windows Azure and will be hosted in one of Fujitsu's datacenters in Japan. The basic service of FGCP/A5 is projected to include compute, storage, Microsoft SQL Azure and Windows Azure AppFabric technologies. The launch of the service is expected to be the result of cooperation on cloud computing announced on July 2010 by Fujitsu and Microsoft.
