ZTE to Deploy National Broadband Network in Belarus

ZTE announced on May 30, 2011 that the company has sealed a contract with BelTelecom for a national broadband network project in Belarus, according to a press release by ZTE. As per the contract, ZTE is expected to deploy a nationwide FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network for BelTelecom using GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology. The project is expected to be divided into several phases, and upon completion, the project will be able to provide data service, video service, and broadband applications in the entire country across a high-speed Internet infrastructure.
