Construction of the 7.5G LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel plant invested by Samsung started on May 30, 2011, according to the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. Situated in Suzhou, China, establishment of the plant is slated to complete in August 2012 and volume production is scheduled for 2013, aiming to produce 100,000 substrates each month. The panel plant is valued at US$3 billion, and Samsung is projected to hold approximately 60% stake in the joint venture.
