In a bid to stimulate Smartphone sales, Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom plans to introduce more mid-range and value-line Smartphones in the next four years, according to an April 21, 2011 report by the Taipei Times of Taiwan. It is reported that Chunghwa Telecom plans to sell less Smartphones with high price tags, aiming to decrease the share of high-end Smartphone in overall Smartphone sales from the current 60% to 40% in 2015. Chunghwa Telecom projects to sell 2.1 million units of mobile phones in 2011, and approximately 40% to 45% of the total will be Smartphones, according to the same source.
