Huawei and Telefonica Germany have signed an agreement for LTE (Long Term Evolution) equipment supply, according to an April 8, 2011 report by the TeleGeography. Telefonia is projected to deploy LTE networks in several regions throughout Germany, and Huawei is reported to provide its SingelRan platform for the LTE deployment. As per the agreement, Huawei will supply base stations for the southern and western regions and complete core network based on its Evolved Packet Core solution in entire Germany. Telefonia plans to launch LTE in approximately 1,500 locations this year.
