Taiwan-based LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) maker
CPT (Chunghwa Picture Tubes) plans to build front- to back-end production lines
for touch sensor production at its plants located in Fuzhou, China, according to
a December 31, 2010 report by the China Times of Taiwan. CPT is expected to
transform its 4.5G TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) LCD plants and adopt 0.3 glass substrates
for production. Production capacity of CPT's first 4.5G plant L1A is projected
to reach 40,000 units of 0.3T glass substrate by the second half of 2011. It is
reported that the second 4.5G plant L1B has completed 0.3T glass substrate
adoption. The L1B plant is slated to begin volume production in January 2011,
aiming to produce 30,000 substrates by the end of March 2011.
