Toshiba Acquiring 100% Stake in HDD JV with Fujitsu

and Toshiba announced on December 28, 2010 that Toshiba has bought out TSDC
(Toshiba Storage Device Corporation), a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) R&D joint
venture between Fujitsu and Toshiba, according to a press release by Fujitsu. Fujitsu
and Toshiba merged their HDD businesses in October 2009, and it is reported that
Toshiba held 80.1% share in TSDC, while Fujitsu held the other 19.9% share. Upon
the completion of the transaction, TSDC is expected to become a 100% owned
subsidiary of Toshiba.
