Taiwan-based CF (Color Filter) supplier Toppan CFI, a subsidiary of Taiwanese panel manufacturer AUO, has decided to set up a CF plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province of China, according to a December 22 report by the Economic Daily News. In tandem with the Taiwanese government's approval of AUO's investment plan for a 7.5G LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel plant in China, Toppan CFI's Kunshan plant will produce 7.5G CF as well and is valued at approximately US$167 million.
