China Unicom Aims to Bring Apple's iPad to China
November 26, 2010

China Unicom said on November 23, 2010 that the company is currently in talks with Apple over the introduction of iPad 3G model in China, according to the Global Times of China. It is reported that China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology regards iPad as a telecom product, therefore it is necessary for iPad to go through quality and safety testing procedures before going on sale in the Chinese market. It is reported that Apple has not sent any iPad samples for testing so far. Currently only Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) version of iPad is available in China, and the device is exclusively distributed by Apple Stores.
