DoCoMo
announced on November 17, 2010 that the company plans to launch an e-book
reader in Japan in December 2010 and a tablet device around February 2011,
according to the Dow Jones Newswires. It is reported that the e-book reader and
tablet device will be manufactured by foreign companies, but the devices will both
adopt DoCoMo's 3G wireless connection. DoCoMo expects that smart devices, such
as tablet PCs and Smartphones will stimulate company growth in 2011.
Meanwhile,
the DoCoMo aims to release wireless connectivity service in Japan based on LTE
(Long Term Evolution) technology on December 24, 2010 in order to deal with increasing
demands for data communication brought by tablet devices and Smartphones, according
to the same source.
