Panasonic to Begin Rolling Out Smartphones in Domestic, Foreign Markets

Mobile Communications announced on November 16, 2010 that the company will
begin selling Smartphones in the Japanese market in the first half of 2011 and
in foreign markets in the first half of 2012, according to Nikkei. Panasonic is
said to introduce at least two Android-powered Smartphone models in Japan with
functions such as 3D display, cameras, and digital broadcasting next year. In
order to expand the company's presence in foreign markets, Panasonic is
projected to cooperate with local telecom operators for product release. It is
reported that Panasonic aims to sell 15 million units of mobile phones and
Smartphones annually in fiscal year 2015 in Japan and abroad, with Smartphone
sales accounting for three-fourths of the total target.
