China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom to Seal Framework Agreements with Alcatel-Lucent

Alcatel-Lucent announced on November 4, 2010 that the company will sign three framework agreements with China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom on November 5, 2010 in Paris, according to a press release by Alcatel-Lucent. The three agreements are valued at approximately 1.178 billion Euros (US$1.69 billion; US$1=0.7 Euros) in total.

As per the 530 million Euro (US$757.1 million) agreement with China Mobile, Alcatel-Lucent is expected to provide GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) wireless networking solutions, transmission equipment, IP routers, and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) platforms, and professional services.

As per the 343 million Euro (US$490 million) agreement with China Telecom, Alcatel-Lucent is projected to offer its CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) wireless networking solutions, fiber-based xPON (Passive Optical Network) and DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) access platforms, IP routers, transmission equipment, and applications.

As per the 305 million Euro (US$435.7 million) agreement with China Unicom, Alcatel-Lucent is said to provide the company's WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) and GSM wireless networking solutions, fiber-based xPON access platforms, IP routers, transmission equipment, managed services, femtocell solutions, 3G applications, and solutions for the integration among telecom, internet and TV broadcasting networks.
