Intel's New Fab in China Kicks Off Production

Intel
debuts the company's first semiconductor fab in Asia on October 26, 2010, according
to the Global Times of China. Located in the city of Dalian, northeast China, the
new plant covers an area of 163,000 square meters and hires more than 1,500
employees, according to the same source. It is reported that the construction
of the plant began in 2007. The Dalian fab is valued at US$2.5 billion, and the
fab is said to emphasis on chipset production, using 65-nm process technology, for
notebook PCs, desktop PCs, and servers.
