Huawei, Option Sign Agreement for Telecom Cooperation

telecom equipment supplier Huawei and Belgian wireless Internet device
manufacturer Option signed an agreement on October 27, 2010 for telecom R&D
tie-up, according to Reuters. It is reported that the two companies also plan
to establish a R&D center in Belgium. As per the agreement, Huawei will
license Option's connection manager software and purchase Option's
semiconductor unit M4S. It is projected that the license is estimated at 27
million Euros (US$37.5 million; US$1=0. 72 Euros) for the first one year and can
be extended to 18 months for up to 33 million Euros (US$45.8 million). The
purchase of M4S is expected to cost Huawei around 8 million Euros (US$11.1
million), according to the same source.
