Vee Time, Microsoft Join Hands for IPTV Service in Taiwan

WiMAX carrier Vee Time and Microsoft jointly released the IPTV (Internet
Protocol Television) service VeeTV in Taiwan, according to an October 26, 2010
report by the China Times of Taiwan. With the adoption of Microsoft's Mediaroom
2.0, VeeTV allows users to watch TV programs on TVs with STBs (Set-To-Box),
PCs, Smartphones, and other Internet-enabled devices running on Windows
operating system. Vee Times said that currently 780,000 subscribers are covered
by the Mediaroom platform, and the company expects that the number of
subscribers will reach approximately 1.5 million by the first quarter of 2011
with the introduction of the new service, according to the same source.
