ZTE, NSN, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent Bid for BSNL Supply Contract

state-owned BSNL said the company has received bids from four telecom
companies, including ZTE, NSN (Nokia Siemens Networks), Huawei, and
Alcatel-Lucent for supplying equipment for BSNL's expansion plan in India,
according to an October 4, 2010 report by Dow Jones Newswires. As per the
expansion plan, BSNL is projected to add 3.37 million lines in north India and
2.13 lines in east India. The supply contract is expected to be finalized
within a month. It is reported that BSNL has already started technical
evaluation of the four vendors, and financial evaluation is projected to follow.
