Sharp to Restore Production of LCD Panels to Previous Level

Japanese Sharp announced on September 16, 2010 that the company plans to stop reducing LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel production and raise output to full capacity in a bid to tap surging market demand, according to Bloomberg. Sharp is projected to restore the production of its plant located in Sakai, western Japan. It is reported that Sharp started production capacity at the Sakai factory at 36,000 panels per month in October 2009, the company then increased panel production to 72,000 per month in July 2010, however, Sharp announced to cut production by approximately 10% in August 2010.
