Foxconn to Set Up PC Production Base in Turkey

Foxconn has signed an agreement on August 6, 2010 to build a PC production base
in Turkey, according to the Hurriyet Daily News. The new production plant is
expected to be used for manufacturing PCs for HP, aiming at producing three
million units a year. PC export destinations include the Middle East, Central Asia,
and Africa. The new factory is expected to be located in an industry park in
the ASB (European Free Zone). The number of workers to be recruited by
Foxconn's new ASB plant reportedly will be 1,500. Operation of the plant is
slated to begin in January 2011.
