SMIC Moves Low Leakage 65nm Technology to Mass Production

Shanghai-headquartered semiconductor foundry SMIC
(Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) announced on August 3,
2010 that the company's low-leakage 65nm process technology has moved into mass
production at its 300mm
plant located in Beijing, China, according to a press release by SMIC. Starting
from the third quarter of 2009, more than 10,000 65nm wafers have been shipped
by the company, according to SMIC. It is reported that SMIC is currently planning
the transition from 65 nm to 55nm technology.
