SEMI Approves Four Taiwan FPD Standards

SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International), AUO, and ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) of Taiwan jointly announced the publication of four new FPD (Flat Panel Display) standards on June 12, 2010, The China Post of Taiwan reported. Previously Taiwan has participated in the formulation of high-tech standards led by other countries, and this marks the first time that Taiwan's own-proposed FPD standards were approved by SEMI.

SEMI is a global industry association dedicated to the development of supply chains for microelectronic, display, and photovoltaic industries. The four new SEMI-approved FPD standards are as follows.
SEMI D56-0310: Measurement Method for Ambient Contrast of LCD (Liquid Crystal Displays)
SEMI D57-0310: Definition of Measurement Index for Mura in FPD Image Quality Inspection
SEMI D58-0310: Terminology and Test Pattern for the Color Breakup of Field Sequential Color Display
SEMI D59-0710: Terminology for 3D Display
